TIFT #135: Change is coming but much will stay the same.

Dec 02, 2025

Dear Readers,

This is still the office where I practice and this blogging website is still where I'll be putting essays on important topics in psychotherapy. I plan to post new essays periodically as they come up. You will receive the same notification as before, but they won't necessarily be every other Tuesday as they have since 2015.

At the same time, in preparation for the eventual publication of my new book, How Psychotherapy Works: Navigating the Therapeutic Space with Confidence, I'm moving my main activity to howtherapyworks.substack.com. There, I'm going to be conducting a "Dear Abby" for therapists using real cases for discussion from an integrative point of view. I hope you will join me. I expect the new format to bring fresh energy and interest so we can all keep learning more about how psychotherapy works and what to do next!

Please send me your stories, especially those about difficult clients or the ones that leave you unsure. You will find guidance for contributors on the site. We'll make sure it's worth your while, and your contribution will help others as well.

Finally, be sure to subscribe to the new Substack for ongoing discussion, and don't forget that the many earlier posts still published here remain as fresh as when they were first written.

See you at the new Substack!

Warm wishes and thanks to all,

Jeffery
